Buttock augmentation or gluteoplasty aims to increase the size of the buttocks either to improve the body contour of the patient who for personal reasons considers their buttocks too small, or to correct loss of gluteal volume after pregnancy, to balance the size of the buttocks when there is difference in size between them or as a reconstructive technique in certain situations.

The procedure is carried out by placing a prosthesis or silicone implant which will be chosen by the surgeon in agreement with the patient, to choose the most appropriate for each individualized case. The scar is hidden in the intergluteal line so it is imperceptible.

Another gluteal augmentation procedure is lipotransfer or lipofilling, a technique in which excess fat from other parts of the body is removed by liposuction and once pertinently treated, is re-infiltrated to enhance and shape the buttocks.
